Welcome to Change Work Life

Welcome to the Change Work Life website and podcast, where we’re all about beating the Sunday evening blues!

Today (8 October 2019) is the official launch day of the Change Work Life podcast, the show where I interview people who have changed careers and the advisers who have helped them to explore what changes people who are unhappy or unfulfilled in their present jobs or careers can make to enjoy a better working life, whether these changes are small alterations to day-to-day routines, major career shifts or something in between.

You can find out more about the podcast and why I’ve started it on the About page and by listening to my short introduction in Episode 1.

The first interviews

I’m publishing three interviews today to start us off, and I really couldn’t have chosen three better and more qualified people to be my first guests.

The established business owner

In Episode 2 Collette Philip Keen tells us how she moved from working for some of the biggest brands in the world to starting her own successful brand consultancy.  It’s a fantastic story and Collette shares some amazing tips about, among other things, work-life balance and how networking really works.

The career coach

My interview with career coach Tom Harris in Episode 3 answers a question which is probably common to many of us: I know I’m unhappy, and I know I need to make a change, but where do I even start?  Tom guides us through his process for working out where you are now, what’s going wrong and how to get to where you need to be.

Just starting out

In Episode 4 we meet former chemist turned maths and science teacher Annie Dehaney-Steven who has very recently started an online tutoring service specifically aimed at teaching maths to “maths anxious” young people.  Annie explains why she decided to take the plunge and start her own business at a point in her life when many would be marking time until retirement.

I was really keen to interview someone who has literally just started their own business and we’ll be following up with Annie in later episodes to see how things are panning out for her.

A taste of things to come

These episodes are just the beginning and I’ve got many more fabulous guests lined up, all of whom will help you to find fulfillment in your job and career and showcase the options available and the actions you can take to enjoy a better working life.

You won’t want to miss a thing, so subscribe to the show and join me on the journey. You can also find me in the Change Work Life Facebook group.

Thank you for reading; it’s great to have you here.
